- What is Million Paws Walk (MPW)?
The Million Paws Walk is the biggest fundraising event for the RSPCA. It involves thousands of people registering and participating at walks held around the country.
So, brush off your walking shoes, pull out your pet’s leash and bring along your ‘best friend’ to Australia’s premier pet event.
- When is the day?
Sunday 18 May 2008.
- Who can enter the event?
Anyone can enter the event. Children, adults, families, school teams, corporate teams, friends, neighbours etc.
- Who organises each event?
The events are organised and presented by each state/territory RSPCA.
- Why was the event started?
Million Paws Walk started in 1994 in Queensland by Dr Cam Day who believed a special event involving animals of all types walking together could be a ‘win-win’, situation, providing a fun day out for pets and their owners, while promoting responsible pet ownership and raising much-needed funds for the RSPCA.
Since then it has expanded, with over 70 events held nationally.
- What if I don’t have a dog?
It doesn’t matter - you can still participate! As well as the walk, there will be entertainment, displays, stalls, giveaways and a host of other activities.
- How can I get sponsored?
Register online and create your own fundraising page which you can send out to friends, family and colleagues, where they can make donations.
- Are there toilets available at the event?
Yes, while venues vary from each state/territory, public toilets are available.
- Is parking available at the event?
Please check your local event details.
- Can I buy merchandise?
Yes, we have t-shirts, caps, dog coats and much more. You can purchase merchandise at the event on the day but this is subject to availability. You can also order via this website.
- Where does the money raised go?
All proceeds from the Million Paws Walk supports the ongoing work of the RSPCA. With over 138,000 animals finding shelter at the RSPCA annually, Million Paws Walk provides vital fundraising to help support all creatures great and small.
- How can I contribute financially?
You can contribute in a number of ways. The best way is to participate in the Million Paws Walk event and seek sponsorship for yourself from family and friends.
- Can my company sponsor the Million Paws Walk?
Absolutely. We actively encourage corporate organisations to get involved with the Million Paws Walk, and would love to hear from you. Contact your state/territory for more information
- Can I transfer my entry or obtain a refund?
No.
- How do I pay for my entry online?
MPW accepts valid Visa or Mastercard Credit Cards for online registration.
- How else can I pay for my registration?
Contact your state/territory to register. Major Credit Cards, money orders and cheques are acceptable and should be made payable to Million Paws Walk addressed to your state/territory.
We request that you please do not send cash in the mail.
You can also register on the day.
- What does my entry fee provide me?
You mean besides a great day with your friends and family? Each online registration will receive entry to the event and a registration pack prior to the event. Register online to receive a fantastic discount!
- What happens if it rains?
Generally Million Paws Walk happens rain, hail or shine, however please contact your state/territory for more information.
- I want to join in - what now?
To sign up for the day, visit your respective city’s page and register online. You can also register at most events on the day.
- Can I volunteer to help?
Yes please! Contact your local RSPCA to find out more.
